The project:

The objective of the project is to empower seniors to contribute to the fight against climate change through social media and DIY sharing.

The project strives to demonstrate the seniors’ role in building a greener and more sustainable Europe, revalorize existing ecological practices and transmit the seniors’ practices to other generations by using social media. The project is set in the context of the digital gap between the generations.

Indeed, our proposal aims to innovate in its approach to the fight against climate change, using a digital approach that will help to create a bridge between the generations. By encouraging older people to share their knowledge and sustainable practices via social media, we are enabling existing traditional practices to be highlighted and promoted to younger generations using their main communication channel. This will allow older people to share the DIY practices they already apply in their daily lives that could be sustainable and useful for everyone, while helping them to improve their digital skills and understanding of social media, in order to create a link with the younger generations.

Results and outcomes:

- 5 national and one final reports with the methodology and the conclusions of the focus groups

- Training Manual, showing the role of DIYs and social media in the fight against climate change with at least 12 hours of

learning content

- E-learning platform digitalising the Manual and enabling seniors to acquire ICT and DIY-related knowledge and skills

- Min. 60 trained seniors on videography and social media

- Min. 5 DIY videos per partner published on the platform
