GNU
TALER is a protocol enabling open payment through the implementation of free
reference software: fast, secure and easy.
This new
system aims to protect buyers' privacy, by guaranteeing anonymity and
compatibility with the European GDPR, AML ("Anti-money Laundering")
and KYC ("Know your Customer Regulation").
In
addition to anonymity, user-friendliness and security, GNU TALER offers a
number of advantages, including
-
The assurance of revenue control for the State
by establishing a cryptographic link between revenues and underlying commercial
activities in order to prevent tax evasion, money laundering, tax fraud, etc.
-
The assurance of providing a micro-payment
system for the purchase of digital services.
-
An open protocol to reduce the fragmentation of
the payment market and the resulting high integration costs.
The main
aim of the TALER project is to market the TALER instant payment system
throughout Europe.
