EDİRNE PROJECT MEETİNG RESULTS
3rd
Meeting in
The third meeting of Learning Partnership OUTDOOR ICT and a learner exchange (˝ day) has been
held in Edirne, Turkey from the 17th

After that the Spanish, French
and Portuqual partners mentioned the project activities They have done. They
had good examples for us.The meeting continued with the detailed checking of
the whole project planned activities.
Spanish partner showed
the website and mentioned how it was going on. Then website is really clear.more
pictures maybe.
French partners showed
How the leaflet was going on.
Portoguese partners had a
presentation about the activities and their country.
Turkish partners Created
social linkes. The Facebook is clear .
After that , A gps
description and geocaching presented by an educator. He told about the What Gps
is and What a geocaching is.

After lunch, A city tour
was organized for the participants as a preparation for geocaching activity.
Before we started to the tour all the partners had gps devices in their hands
and the coordinates were given. When we came the coordinates place, everybody
controlled the devices.The places (Selimiye Mosque, Beyazıt Mosque and The
Complex, Karaagac Region and the old Bridges.)

18th of September,2012:
The day started with a
good breakfast in an open area. Then all the team went to the Söğütlük
forest for the activities. Here a geocaching and orienteering activity was
performed. All the project representatives and the learner groups participated
the activities. There they had experiented the outdoor activies.

The aim of the geocaching
activities is to find the treasure in a hided place by using the gps devices.
The coordinates were given to the every groups and they tried to find the
treasure by using the gps tool .The target group and the project coordinators
worked together.
The orienteering and
geocaching instructors helped the groups and
explained the instructions clearly.
The activities were not
boring or too long The had an enjoyable time.The winner group found the treasure was given small
presents.

It was determined that it
was going to put more materials on the website and facebook. It was going to
organize more ICT courses and outdoor activities in the next meeting.

THE RESULTS OF THE PROJECT MEETING
1.MONITOR PROJECT PROGRES
The
Project activities were completed succesfully. All the partners presented their
roles in the Project

OF THE PROJECT
Orienteering
and the geocaching activities were done. All the partners and the learners
participated the activities.
PURPOSES OF THE ACTIVITIES:
A-ORIENTEERING :
The orienteering sport
activities which were done in
B-USING GPS AND GEOGACHING :
In these
activities geographic coordinate and the use of GPS data
has been trying to improve .It was aimed to teach the methods
of teaching GPS device and the geografic coordinates with the
theoretical and practical applications
and presentations. For this
purpose, Geocaching is the best activitiy being done in the open air with
the use of the GPS device .For this reason ,Geogaching practical work experiences has being done near Meriç River in Edirne .It
was thought that these geocaching activities will be an example for further
studies.. These types of
activities will be a training for the adults in terms
of using
information
and communication technologies in the outdoor.
