3. Summary:

Wednesday, March 14, 2012:

·      Arrival of participants, walk through old town and icebreaking dinner in local restaurant.

Thursday, March 15, 2012:

·      Morning presentations by each of the partners as well as local authorities summarizing the current demographical situation and the initiatives being undertaken in regard to active aging and intergenerational solidarity in Europe.

·      Afternoon presentations of more specific, project-related activities in each of the partner countries:

1.      Of particular note, presentation of the proprietary e-learning platform by Globalnet (Partner 1 – PL): clarifications and process of student and teacher registration for the Losglobos E-Learning System (www.losglobos.eu) which is free to use by all partners in their approach to the training process. Teachers are initially attributed an English-language database. In order to have access to additional language databases or to add already-prepared language exercises, it is necessary to contact Tomasz Wysocki, the platform administrator for Globalnet at: tomek@profutura.poznan.pl. Currently, teachers are able to create exercises directly on the platform, itself, with sentences being limited to 255 characters.

2.      In addition, an example of best practice was presented by EURelations (Partner 3 – IT). This was a description of a mathematical training program being conducted for 50+ learners taking an innovative and motivational approach. First results show active and lively learner participation.

3.      E-Seniors (Partner 2 – FR) also presented their innovative, blended learning approach to teaching English to those over 50 (PPT presentation attached).

Friday, March 16, 2012:

Morning discussion involved the planning of the next meeting dates (Meeting #3) in Paris, FR. This is now scheduled for June 27 – 28 (arrival on June 26) 2012. In addition, it was decided to hold Meeting #4 in Germany (probably in Nov. 2012) instead of in Spain, as the Spanish partner (Partner 4) is no longer in the project. Finally, an additional and final meeting (#5) will take place in Poland at project’s end, as this will enable all partners to fulfill mobility requirements and will compensate for the absence from the project of two of the initial six project applicants (the Greek applicant, Partner 6, never received funding at all).

Additional project dissemination was ensured through broadcast by the regional television network:
