REPORT OF THE “YODUL” PROJECT MEETING

Orhaneli (Turkey)

24th  to  28th  of  October   2011

France, Spain, Turkey
 
As a result of the first meeting that took place in Orhaneli (Turkey) to discuss, analyse and establish the objectives, tasks and schedule for the European Project “THE ADULTS AND YOUNG: PARTNERS IN INTERGENERATIONAL DIALOGUE” the following agreements were made:

1.  OBJECTIVES:

-To create a link (via internet) between students of the different educational centres involved in the project.
-To take students to the other students´ countries in order to show them different cultures and promote tolerance and respect for each other.
-To establish relationships between the younger students and the elderly to facilitate intergenerational dialogue.
-To create a web site as a platform for students to keep in touch and to show the results of the project.
-To create a magazine (digital) and to publish this magazine in order to share the final product of the project with the educational community of each country.
-To learn and share ideas regarding education from other educational centres (teachers).
-To improve the level of English of the teachers and students involved in the project.

2.  SCHEDULE

NOVEMBER-DECEMBER 2011:

1.   Spain elaborates the document with the agreements and decisions taken in the first meeting in Turkey.
2.    Students will be selected following the questionnaire elaborated by Turkey (adapted to each country). Ten students will be chosen to participate in the project in each country.
3.   Students will be selected by the teachers involved in the project. The following criteria will be in Spain and can be used also by the other countries if applicable:
A. Availability to travel.
B.  Availability to host other students.
C.  Motivation to learn English and level of English in order to be able to communicate.
D. Positive attitude and grades (if applicable).
4.   The list of the selected students for the project will be sent before 23rd December 2011 to the coordinator partner (Turkey) with the following items:
-NAME:
-GENDER:
-AGE:
-E-MAIL ADDRESS (GMAIL):
-FACEBOOK ACCOUNT (IF POSSIBLE):
-TIME OF DAY DAY TO CONTACT THE OTHER STUDENTS:
-LEVEL OF ENGLISH:
-HOBBIES, INTERESTS:
-DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPH (IF POSSIBLE):

Turkey will manage the list of students (Spanish, French and Turkish) to match them in groups of three (one from France, one from Spain and one from Turkey). This list will contain the items previously provided. 5.   Parallel to this, French partners will manage the software PACE TO FACE and send it to Spain and Turkey.

JANUARY 2012:

1.   Turkey will send the matching list (in groups of three).
2.   The software PACE TO FACE will be tested by the teachers in Turkey, France and Spain.
3.   Parallel to this, France will create the web site for the project in order to collect all the materials that result from the project.
4.   Parallel to this, Spain will work on the LOGO for the project and send it to Turkey and France and the prototype of the brochure that the students will be working with later on.
5.   Each partner will download photographs, materials, comments, ideas on the visit that took place in Orhaneli in order to start elaborating the digital magazine for the project.

FEBRUARY 2012:

1.   Students will start to contact each other either using PACE TO FACE or FACEBOOK or the project´s web site. The main goal of these contacts (in addition to the objectives previously mentioned) is to create a brochure or guide containing information of the main touristic places that could be visited by students and teachers while they are visiting Paris, Madrid and Orhaneli.
2.   Turkey will send the structure for the magazine (sections).

FEBRUARY-APRIL 2012:

1.   Students will be in contact in groups of three (one from Turkey, one from France and one from Spain) following the matching list previously elaborated by Turkey.
2.   Each group of students will prepare a brochure of activities and places to visit in Paris based on their preferences.
3.   The brochures of each group of students will be on the web site before the end of April, so the French teachers can decide which will be the final guide/brochure to be given to all students before their visit to Paris.  

MAY 2012:

1.  Mid-May: visit to Paris. Spain will take 5 students and 5 teachers and Turkey will take 2 students and 4 teachers. The number of students and teachers could be changed.
2.  Each partner will download photographs, materials, comments, ideas on the visit that took place in Paris in order to continue elaborating the digital magazine for the project.

JUNE-SEPTEMBER 2012:

1.   Each group of students will prepare a brochure of activities and places to visit in Madrid based on their preferences.
2.   The brochures of each group of students will be on the web site before the end of September, so the Spanish teachers can decide which will be the final guide/brochure to be given to all students before the visit to Madrid.  

OCTOBER 2012:

1.   Mid-October: Visit to Madrid. Turkey will take 2 students and 4 teachers and France will take 3 teachers and 3 students. The number of students and teachers could be changed.
2.   Each partner will download photographs, materials, comments, ideas on the visit that took place in Madrid in order to start elaborating the digital magazine for the project.
